Bambusa ventricosa Kimmei
Print

As Bambusa ventricosa but with yellow/green striated culms and cream striped leaves.

Though this bamboo is related to the ventricosa (Buddhas Belly), it is quite unusual for it develop the short swollen internodes. Under normal QLD growing conditions, the Kimmei will generally grow straight, without any of the bellying internodes.

The Kimmei is very fast growing with a vigourous growth habit. Great for privacy screening on acreage, windbreaks or erosion control. Can be quite open clumping.
