The Giant Buddhas Belly has large swollen internodes and weeping culms. Its timber is popular for bamboo craft or ornamental pieces.

Its simply a spectacular ornamental.

It is a reasonably open clumping bamboo with a typical clump size of 1.5 to 2m after 5 to 10 years, so its important to give it a good amount of space to grow and to not plant it to close to any fences or buildings (ie. atleast 1m away). Like most bamboos, the clump size can be kept smaller by breaking off new shoots that emerge on the outside perimeter of clump, leaving those shoots within the clump to grow up - this is easy work if done as soon as the new shoots come up from the ground.
