Theres 3 ways we can send plants to you (see details for each below):

  1. By truck - For larger quantities (10 plants or more), or large plants, sending by truck is the best option. We use plant specialised freight carriers, so plants get watered during transit.
  2. By courier - For smaller quantities (10 plants or less), and if the plants are less than 1m tall, we can package the plants into a box (or boxes) and send them by courier. This doesn't work for remote areas, as the plants will not be able to get watered during transit and must be delivered within 2 or 3 days.
  3. By post - For smaller quantities or remote areas. We wash away all the soil and pack the plants into moist paper. Plants can be in transit for up to one week, so no problem sending to remote areas.

By truck

We can arrange for delivery of plants by truck to most major cities or towns near coastal regions. We use plant specialised freight companies, so the plants will be watered during transit. Since it is very difficult to provide accurate costing of freight to your area (especially when plant quantity and sizes are unknown) it is best to call us for a quote.

The following figures can be used as an estimate:

Bamboo Land to: Freight cost *
BRISBANE METRO $66
SUNSHINE COAST $66
GOLD COAST $66
MACKAY $121
SYDNEY METRO $264
CAIRNS $198
CANBERRA $330
MELBOURNE $330
* These freight costs covers up to about 30 of our standard 3L sized plants, or 15 of the 10L size. For other sizes or greater quantities, please contact us for a quote.

The prices mentioned above is usually for delivery to your door. Since deliveries are carried out by large trucks, sometimes they are unable to access smaller suburbs or towns off the main highways. If this is the case, then meeting points or alternate drop-off points can usually be established. Just give us a call for advice.

By courier

We pack potted plants into cardboard boxes and send with a courier. Sending plants by courier only works for smaller plants and only to easy to reach places. Most towns and cities along the east coast of Australia is not a problem to send to. However, since the plants cannot get watered during transit, we cant send plants by this means to remote areas, due to risk of the plants drying out during transit.

We can usually fit about 10 plants in a box, though this does depend on pot size and height of plants. As a rough guide, it cost about $40 to send to South East QLD region, $50 to $60 to NSW and northern QLD.

Give us a call or email to get a an exact quote.

By Post

delivery_bare_rooted_bamboo
Bamboo washed free from soil with some foliage removed.

We can send plants all over Australia and even worldwide.

Within Australia, we charge $20 for the first plant plus $3 for every plant thereafter.

When sending plants in the post, we wash away all the soil and pack the plants in moist paper and then pack them into cardboard tubing. The bamboos will be cut back (ie. tops cut off) to be about 1m in height. Gingers and Heliconias are usually sent just as bare-rhizome.

We recommend that when you recieve bare-rooted plants, you repot them and let them stand for a few weeks before you plant them out in your garden. A good warm sheltered position is ideal whereby you can keep them moist but not too wet.

This is just to ensure that they make a quick and full recovery.

NOTE: for customers in Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania

Due to state quarantine requirements in these states, all shipments to these states require 'Plant Health Certificates' which are issued by DPI inspectors. The inspection of the plants prior to sending them and the issuing of the certificate costs $300 (fixed cost) ontop of the usual postage charges.
