A nice garden bamboo with green culms and cream striations which age to mottled black. Though not as black as the Lako, it does have a similar appearance, only smaller.
Said to be the most common bamboo in the world. Very adaptive. Good rainforest pioneer. Slightly weeping tops. Very hardy with a reasonably open clumping growth habit.
Edible shoots and good quality timber. Its not a very ornamental bamboo, but the near solid culms still make it an important timber bamboo.
Straight, good quality timber. Edible shoots. This bamboo flowered gregariously in 2010 / 2011. The plants that we are selling now are grown from seeds collected.
