Hi. My name is Mel Manley. I am on the Forgetme Not Childrens Home Ball ( an orphanage in Nepal that was started by young Hervey Bay man, Lars Olsen) committee. We are holding our annual fundraiser on June 19th. It is a Bollywood ball in an unusual marquee on Seafront Oval Hervey Bay. I am lookinh for some flowering heliconias to decorate the marquee. Do you currently have any that are flowering that we could borrow? I have 7 acres in Eumundi and have bought several heliconias and gingers form you guys, however none of mine are flowering to cut flowers or take up to Hervey bay for the event....If you do not have any but know a good heliconia supplier that would be greatly appreciated.....thank you for your time and help....x Mel

G'day
I am looking for fast growing bamboo as a privacy screen, probably at least 8-10 metres high, in sandy soil at Peregian Beach, Sunshine Coast. The length needed for privavy is about 20 metres.Could you please advise me of the best bamboo that you supply and the maturity time? Also, Which size bundle, e.g., 10 litre? Would this be a good time to plant? How much watering is necessary and other requirements?
I hope you can help me.

Visited bamboo land 2 years ago and bought a Dendrocalamus Asper, over the last 2 months it has gone mad. After our first big rain 11 new shoots popped up. I have been amazed at the rate they have grown. One of the shoots is 310 mm in circumference a the first section and 6m in height. I go out every morning and just stand and stare in awe, what an amazing growth rate. Can you give me some advice on how to propagate this variety, not that I want to deprive you of sales, but just for my personel satisfaction. Thankyou for introducing me to this wonderful plant. Another question, how and when is the best time to harvest a shoot for eating.
Thanks Ron

I have enjoyed looking at your website. My husband was surfing for nursery that sells bamboos and thank goodness that he found your website. I am more interested at Buddha's Belly that could grow up to 4m high. The other one that I am interested in is that bamboo that resembles a palm tree. Those two will be eye catching and I know that they satisfy my choice of having bamboo in my garden and at the same time they are not big enough that my neighbors will complain. We live at Pacific Pines, Gold Coast. I am also interested in your ginger plants especially those that produce flowers that have nice smell. That kind of ginger plant is called "Camia" in the Philippines where I originally came from. Hoping someday we can visit Bamboo Land. Thank you.

Congratulations on the website. I am entralled by the information and have been back to the website a few times now. I have always wanted a garden with bamboo in it and am determined to go ahead and prepare a garden room. It may have to be a big room using the other plants you suggest to give contrast and appeal. We will need some advice on the species best suited to our situation so will contact you soon.
