Also known as ‘Pheasants Tail’ it is a beautiful foliage plant with dark green leaves and a contrasting dark purple flower followed by small, red berry like fruit. Native to South America, its leaves are reputedly used for multiple medicinal purposes. Foliage may scorch if grown in areas with direct sunlight, dry or drafty areas.

Being epiphytic like Orchids and Air-Plants, it is well suited to growing on logs, rocks, stumps or hanging baskets. An excellent indoor plant.
