Chamaedorea costaricana (Costa Rica Bamboo Palm)
This palm is similar to the Bamboo Palm or Chamaedorea seifrizii only bigger, lusher and more elegant as it matures. Growing at high elevation in it's natural habitat, it is the most cold tolerant of the Chamaedoreas.
Locally know as the Pacaya palm in it's origin, the young infloresence is harvested in the wild and used in salads, soups and stews. A traditonal food in Guatemala and surrounding countries.
