One of the largest bamboo in the world with quality timber and edible shoots.
Needs tropical conditions to reach its potential. In subtropical climates such as at Bamboo Land, it struggles to reach even 20 meters.
This bamboo flowered gregariously in 2010 with some viable seed. The plants that are now sold, are of these seedlings.
