Ordering Guide
Buy direct from the grower
We’re a production nursery with every plant we sell is grown right here at Bamboo Land in South East QLD by our dedicated team of nearly 20 full-time propagators. We take great pride in what we grow. By managing every step of the process from propagation to dispatch, we maintain full control over quality while keeping prices low.. The result: healthy, thriving plants delivered straight from our nursery to your door.
Range of size available
We grow most of our plant varieties in a range of pot sizes to suit every budget and garden goal. Smaller pots (125mm, 180mm, and 200mm) are great value and cheaper to ship, while larger sizes (250mm, 300mm, and 400mm) deliver instant impact for those who prefer a more established look right away.
What sets us apart from other online plant providers
We are not a tubestock or seedling supplier like many of the other online nurseries. We sell larger pot sizes, with plants large enough to plant straight into your garden with instant impact - generally the sort of plants you would find in your local walk-in nursery but with the benefit of coming straight from the grower.
Due to the large size of the plants, shipping may be a bit more expensive than what's on offer from some of the other online tubestock providers - but just remember that you are getting much larger plants when buying from us, with less risk of loss or damage due to their established root systems. No need for potting up and growing on - just healthy thriving plants ready to plant in your garden or for the instant green in your home!
How we ship plants
Generally, all our smaller pot sizes (125mm, 180mm and 200mm) are packed in boxes and sent by courier or Australia Post.
To maximise efficiency when packing, and thus reducing freight costs, it’s best if orders of these pot sizes be kept in multiples of the following:
125mm/2litre pots - multiples of 6 or 9
180mm pots - multiples of 6
200mm pots - multiples of 4
Small order quantities of only 1 or 2 plants can sometimes lead to shipping costing more than the cost of the plants, so best to avoid orders of only 1 or 2 plants. Shipping costs become much less in proportion to the plant cost for larger quantities, especially when ordered in the multiples mentioned above.
Plants generally travel well in boxes for delivery times of up to 10 days. When packed in darkness, they temporarily stop photosynthesising, which greatly reduces their water needs and allows them to remain healthy for extended periods without watering.
For our larger pot sizes (250mm, 300mm, 400mm, etc) or for large quantities of plants, the plants will generally be sent by a plant specialised freight carrier. Plants will be packed onto trolleys or pallets and they will be watered during the transit period. Delivery will generally be to the front of the property or somewhere in close proximity with easy access to unload directly from a rigid removalist-style truck.
The ordering process
The easiest way to order plants from us is via our website. Simply finding the plants or products you want, and adding to the cart.
Our website will show all available size options for each plant, along with up-to-date availability.
Remember that we are also a walk-in nursery, open 7 days a week. We can be contacted by phone or email every single day for support. We are not garden designers, but we are very experienced with all the plants we supply - we are after all, the actual growers of the plants and therefore have a deep understanding of how they grow, what they like and don't like. We are happy to advise on the suitability of plants, plant spacing, and plant combinations.
With the variable nature of living plants, most of the plants we supply require us to quote on shipping, as opposed to an automated shipping-calculator style of checkout process.
What this means is that for most of our plant lines, you will submit your order for an obligation free shipping quote. Think of it more as an order enquiry. We don't take any money upfront when placing orders, so there is no financial commitment required for you to place an order enquiry. You are free to cancel at any time should you wish.
Our goal is to keep prices fair and affordable - for both plants and shipping, while ensuring every order travels safely and arrives in perfect condition. That’s why we personally quote each order individually. Our dedicated sales and logistics team will determine the most efficient shipping method and email you a full quote, including delivery costs. Most orders are processed the same day, often within just a few hours.
By providing manual quotes for each order, we can make sure your shipping costs are fair and accurate - never over-inflated. It’s our way of helping you get the best value possible!
Some of our plant lines are available in predefined multipacks. These sort of plant packs will be able to be ordered with automated shipping charges calculated in the checkout.
Safe shipping guarantee
All our orders are hand-packed by experienced staff to ensure your plants leave the nursery in the best possible condition. Each plant is well-watered before packing to help it stay fresh and healthy throughout its journey.
When your plants arrive, take a moment to unwrap and inspect them carefully.
If a plant arrives in poor condition, we will happily replace or refund. Poor condition refers to plants unlikely to live and thrive as a result of transport damage. It does not include one or two yellowing or slightly damaged leaves or stems on an otherwise healthy plant.
We ask that you notify us of any issues within 2 days of receiving your plants. Please take clear photos of any damage and email them to us as soon as possible. Alternatively, you’re welcome to call us directly to discuss the issue so we can resolve it promptly.
Please also keep in mind that plants are living, ever-changing things - not factory-made products. Variations in size, shape, and colour are completely natural. Photos and listed sizes are intended as a guide only, and we always send out the very best plants available at the time of your order.
After your plants arrive
Once your plants arrive safely, their ongoing health is in your hands. We’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for damage that occurs after delivery due to improper storage or care.
With every order, you’ll receive a flyer with helpful tips on how to care for your new plants. Take a moment to read through it - it’ll help your new plant babies settle in and thrive in their new home!
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or need a little extra guidance, we’re always happy to help. Just give us a call or send us an email anytime.
