Asplenium nidus
A lush tropical birdnest fern with broad, glossy green fronds forming a striking rosette. Thrives in warm, humid, shaded positions with rich, well-drained soil. The Nidus is from warm tropical regions of Australia and South East Asia.
Typical height: 50 to 100cm
Climate: Prefer warm subtropical climates or warm protected positions, frost free.
Light conditions: Part shade / shade
Growing conditions: Moist well drained soil
Origin: Australia, SE Asia
The nidus is very similar to the A. australasicum in terms of size and appearance, but the nidus is less cold tolerant. If you are in colder regions in QLD or southern parts of Australia, then the A. australasicum is a better choice.
