A popular Australian native tree with large green lobed leaves. Deciduous in the cooler dry months, followed by an abundant display of bright red bell-shaped flowers. Striking as a feature tree in larger gardens.

Often referred to as the Kurrajong, which is an aboriginal name for shade tree. Indigenous people used the inner bark of the tree for making nets and traps. The seeds, after the right preparation, are a great source of protein and are said to taste somewhat like a raw peanut.
