Epidendrum (Crucifix Orchid) - Mini Lilac
The Mini Lilac is quite a rare crucifix orchid which only grows to 30 to 40cm tall. Flowers just as easily as the more common varieties.

Climate: Prefers tropical or subtropical climates, or warm protected positions in temperate climate.
Light conditions: Full sun to part shade

Growing conditions: Free draining soil, forks of trees, in-between rocks
Flowers: Nearly year-round in warmer climates
Origin: Caribbean
Crucifix orchids are a great beginner's orchid - they are tough and easy to grow, with long lasting flowers.
They can be grown in pots in a free-draining mix, amongst rocks in the garden, or in soil. They like a frost-free climate and flower best in a full sun position.
