Heliconia psittacorum 'Petra'
The Petra is great for cut flowers. Quite a distinct look with the green 'leaf-shaped' tip on the lower bract. A little bit taller growing than the other Psittacorums.
Typical height: 1 to 1.5m
Climate: Prefers tropical or subtropical climates, or warm protected areas in Temperate climates (eg. Coastal Sydney)
Light conditions: Full sun to part shade
Growth habit: Slightly spreading
Growing conditions: Moist well drained soil, rich in organic matter
Flowers: Spring through to late Autumn
