Alpinia sp. 'Fiji'

A new release ginger with unusually long and thin leaves. Forms dense clumps which are compact and upright. Produces flowers at the tops of each stem throughout summer. Good hardy landscaping plant.

Typical height: 1 to 1.5m
Climate: Quite cold tolerant. Grows well in most parts of Australia.
Light conditions: Part shade
Growth habit: Clumping, upright foliage
Growing conditions: Moist well drained soil, rich in organic matter
Flowers: Spring / Summer

A small to medium sized ginger with eye catching foliage and flowers. It may be grown in filtered sun provided plants are given adequate water, though plants will look their best when provided with afternoon shade.
